Glycerol

  • Glycerol Monostearate (GMS) is a solid form of glycerin, a trihydric alcohol compound found in the diet as a component of fat or triglycerides.
  • Glycerol serves as the structural backbone onto which fatty acid molecules are attached to make triglycerides and is isolated for use by hydrolysis (removal of the fatty acide molecules)
  • Glycerol “hyperhydrates” by increasing the fluid volume in blood and tissues, thus increasing muscle hydration
  • Enhances the absorption of other supplements taken in conjunction with it, such as creatine
  • REKT Performance Intensifier uses a highly concentrated GMS 95%
  • Fun Fact: glycerol is often used as an emulsifier in skin creams and hair care products, as well as baking and confectionary applications

Benefits of Glycerol Monostearate

  • enhanced muscle hydration
  • vasodilation/improved blood volume
  • enhanced nutrient absorption
  • Improved electrolyte delivery

Recommended Dose:

  • 1-2 grams of glycerol
  • 20-60 minutes before training
